Radical Woman of God

This young woman is an inspiration to me! Crazy to think that she is 22 and has adopted 13 children in Uganda along with founding a thriving ministry. I admire her and stand in awe of what the LORD is doing in in her and through her! Please read her story on the blog link below.

"What would cause an eighteen-year-old old senior class president and homecoming queen from Nashville, Tennessee, to disappoint her parents by forgoing college, break her little brother’s heart, lose all but a handful of her friends (because the rest of them think she has gone off the deep end), and break up with the love of her life, all so she could move to Uganda, where she knew only one person but didn’t know any of the language? A passion to make a difference. Katie Davis left over Christmas break her senior year for a short mission trip to Uganda and her life was turned completely inside out. She found herself so moved by the people and children of Uganda that she knew her calling was to return and care for them. She has given up a relatively comfortable life—at a young age—to care for the less fortunate of this world. She was so moved by the need she witnessed, she's centered her life around meeting that need. Katie, a charismatic and articulate young woman, is in the process of adopting 13 children in Uganda, and she completely trusts God for daily provision for her and her family."

She also has a book coming out soon!

Quote from Katie:

And people say, “Don’t you get tired?” and yes, I do. But I’m face to face with Jesus in the dirt, and the more I bend the harder and better and fuller this life gets. And sure, we are tired, but oh we are happy. Because bent down low is where we find

fullness of Joy

Do you know Jesus?

I was working at the Ward's corn stand the other day and processing my thoughts as I sorted corn, I randomly began to think about street witnessing. I've always remembered the one and only time a stranger shared her faith with me and my friends while we were at the ocean, she passed tracts out to us and was really nice.

I sadly pondered, Wow, that has only happened once! If I didn't already know Jesus ... that would be a sad thing to only have been witnessed to once! Cori, how many times has He given you the opportunity to witness to strangers and you haven't done it?

Well that was about as far as my thoughts went and I forgot all about it until I met Terry. Terry was my last customer to roll in before lock up. He told me he is always late because he is normally at the church until noon. We chatted for a moment and he bought a dozen ears of corn and then he paused, looking straight into my eyes while smiling he asked, "Do you know Jesus?"

I think my jaw dropped open at his question. I was happy to be able to tell him that I know Jesus and thanked him from the bottom of my heart for asking. As we spoke I was encouraged by his love for the LORD, missions, people, and sharing the gospel.

I had to smile at the end of the day - God is so good and so faithful! I praise Him for His faithfulness to me and thank Him for showing me His relentless heart for the unreached through someone like Terry.
